SSNOTIME47*** Something Old

Sharon's Stamp Simply Friday was to create something old... be it with old stamps that we haven't used or old techniques..

Go to Sharon's site HERE for all the details and the links to all the other creations.

I did have a little trouble but was inspired by two things that happened to belong to both of my grandmothers for the green card.
A black rhinestone purse that sits in my spare bedroom on the old makeup vanity hence the black paper, ribbon and green rhinestone and also a mirror that is in our bedroom that is oval and very very old.
I also used an old stamp by Magenta as my focal point and distressed the edges of the paper..

Not so much "old" that is noticeable in my work but certainly inspired by old wonderful possessions of mine that I just love.
The pink card was created with a stamp that I found in the bottom of a drawer that hasn't seen the light of day for quite some time. Actually the stamp is from Santa Rosa company which I believe is no longer in business. I stamped it, colored with copics, aged a bit and used my nestabilities to cut out the shapes. The designer paper reminds me of very old wallpaper.
Actually it was fun to root around and see what stamps I haven't used in some time.

Have a great weekend everyone!!

Oh, I love these both, Janine!!! They do have an old wall paper, warm and cozy vintage feel to them and yes, how these ovals always DO remind me of old-time mirrors. LOVE that you used old things as your inspiration -- way to go!!! Thanks so much!!!

Simple, elegant and pretty! Love them. Isn't it neat when you can find inspiration for stamping projects in non-stamping things?? Way cool!
