Tulips for my Mom ***

My mother has finally figured out how to post comments on my site and she has requested more spring flowers, specifically tulips.
So Mom - this is for you !!
The images are from Art Impressions and River City Rubber Works. I colored directly on the image with markers and stamped on watercolor paper. I then bled out the color a little with a brush and water.
I used my Nestabilities to cut out the circle and scallop circle and then attached it all to the designer paper from Daisy Bucket designs.
I also tried to make raindrops on the tulips by adding some Diamond Glaze...
The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.
I also used some clear Dew Drops in the corners.
The ribbon is from Michaels.
Have a great day everyone !! Expecially you MOM ***

Here is a closeup of the tulips and pot ***

Easter's Bunny ***

This is a quick 10 minute card... Stamp the cutest rabbit image in black archival ink and color with Copics.
Layer on a square scallop made with Nestabilities.
The sentiment is from Penny Black and attach to your card with a snippet of ribbon.
How simple is that !!!
Have a fantabulous day everyone !!

Isn't he the cutest !!!

Hope Your Day Shines ***

Since my day was shining yesterday with my happy mail, I made this card to share with you.
It is one of the new Card Art kits from Hero Arts.
I inked it up with my brayer with Caribbean Sea Kaleidacolor ink and stamped it on ivory cardstock. I did the flower once again and cut it out to give it a little lift off the page.
I added pale yellow copic marker to the circles and covered them in glitter. The kit comes with the little gemstones so I used those in the center of the flower and the corners.
Hope your day shines today too !!!
Have a good one :)

Happy ** Fun*** Mail

I got some wonderful mail today.. I just love mail. I love opening envelopes, and boxes and bags !!
Bills not so much but everything else ** YAHOO !!
Sooo today Julie, one of my SBS 5 sisters sent me all these wonderful things..
I have not had time to make any cards yet so I stamped the images that she sent so that you could see them.
Also the wonderful embellishments and the gorgeous card were in the package.
I think Julie and I are going to have fun with this one little package... She knows what I mean !!!
THANK YOU JULIE *** YOU ARE THE BEST !!! Check out Julie's site "Out to Impress" ***
She does fantastic work ...

Hi There ***

Just a quick post this morning... I have to shovel before I go to work !!!
The image is from Magenta, stamped in Black Brilliance and colored with Copic markers.
I brayered the top of the card with Caribbean Sea Kaleidacolor Ink and then layered it to a piece of mustard confetti cardstock. The purple cardstock is distressed or roughed up and then all is put together, with the addition of dark purple grosgrain ribbon that was in a tin on my desk.
You know when you are in a rush and you can't think...you know the card still needs a little something so I just added a chipboard circle that I inked up with Distress Ink and added a Papertrey Ink sentiment.
I just noticed that I stamped some of the birds a little low and cut off their feet... Oh well - adds character I say !!
Have a fabulous day everyone and thanks for stopping by ***

Thank you very much ***

Hi everyone !! I am back... This is a thank you to all of you who come and visit my site and leave such wonderful comments... and a special thankyou to my two new friends, Julie and Pat!!
Love them !!
I used my alcohol inks again and did a background in greens and reds and oranges. I so love the look it gives.
I used this flower stamp from Stampendous, stamped in Jet Black staz-on and a Hero Arts sentiment stamped on a mini tag cut out with my Cuttlebug.
I also used some tiny dot sparklers, also from Stampendous.
I hope you all had a great weekend. We did and now it's back to the things that need doing.
Laundry, and more laundry but first I must go to the gym...
Have a great day !!!

HELLLLLOOOOO *****

I will back at it tomorrow !!

Have a good sleep !!

Happy Spring ***

Well , I had some time today to look through alot of WONDERFUL sites out there and all the great ideas so when I sat down at my work table tonight I thought about what I could do.
I took Michelle Wooderson's scallop card idea and Laura's idea and put them together. Laura did a card with this same flower and I think it works well. I watercolored my flowers and added some yellow stickles. The sentiment if from My Favorite Things.
I used the largest scallop and the largest circle from my Nestabilities to cut the card and the circle for the flowers. I got a ridge on the scallop which I don't think Michelle got but I don't think it takes away from the card itself.
Something a little different.. Not a square, not a rectangle, a scallop !!
Have a great weekend everyone !!!

Friends ***

This set is from "My Favorite Things" and I have had it for awhile so decided to ink it up today.
I stamped the main image twice. Once on white Prism cardstock and once on the D.P.
I cut out the designer paper image for the woman and the dog and glued them onto the main image.
I used my Copics to color the rest of the image and then used some Ocean Blue versamagic ink to ink up the sides.
Then I used a little snippet of ribbon that was still on my desk and added a Prima flower !!
Have a wonderful evening everyone and thanks for stopping by...

Here is a close-up of the puddle of water. I used Diamond Glaze...

ENJOY THE SUNSHINE ***

LOOK AT THAT SUNSHINE !!! Isn't it gorgeous !!
Can you see it??? It's time for a lawn chair and a margarita !!
Ok so there is still snow on the ground but I can hope can't I ??
I used Hero Arts clear set "Share Laughter" today and stamped the solid flower in two shades of coral Adirondack ink and cut them out.. I did the same with the leaves.
I arranged them on white cardstock and used dimensionals to pop up the flowers. I used the Cuttlebug mini tag set and used a sentiment from Papertrey Ink to tuck under the flower.
The addition of clear glitter pen on the flowers(which you can't see and also the addition of a few crystals adds the final touch.
Have a great day everyone and thanks for stopping by !! Now get out there and enjoy that sunhine !!! Tanny

You Take the Cake ***

This card is done with the "You take the Cake" set from My Favorite Things. The focal image is colored with Copic markers and a little glitter added to the icing.
I layered with all the colors that I colored with and added some polka dot D.P. and grosgrain ribbon.
A very simple card. I have many birthdays coming up so I need to get started.
Have a great day everyone !!!

Another Challenge ***

Michelle at Twisted Chick issued a challenge and wanted you to use scraps, an image and a sentiment. Well I kind of did that but used scrap designer paper that I had floating all over my work table. The images are from Stampin Up.
This also replenished my card stash which was getting pretty low.
Hope everyone has a great Sunday!!!

Julie's Challenge

You know how when you meet someone you just connect? Well Julie from "Out to Impress" is one of the sweetest people I have met since I started my blog.. It's almost like we have known each other for a very long time. She is also extremely talented ***
She had a sketch on her site this weekend and this is what I came up with.
The images are from Stampin Up, which I stamped in Versafine Smokey Gray ink, and colored with Copic markers.
The inspiration for this card was the bit of ribbon behind the image. It was lying on my work table and I didn't want to put it back in the bucket so I worked my colors around it.. Check out Julie's blog... You won't be disappointed.

Sharon's Challenge

Sharon's challenge this week was a sketch challenge. The nice things about this sketch was that it was simple and therefore allows the image to be the focal point of the card.
This image is from Stampin Up and is stamped in black archival ink on watercolor paper. I colored it with Tombow markers and added some diamond glaze to the flowers. Just a bit of ribbon and a nice, quick card...
Check out Sharon's blog... Her work is fabulous !!
The sun is shining here and it is a glorious day !!!

I am a Princess ***

Nina, one of my SBS 5 sisters, has awarded me the Card Making Princess button... Wow !! I started my week with the "E" for Excellenct award and ended it with the "Princess" button...
Thank you so much for thinking that my cards are worthy of such attention !!

Have a fantastic weekend everyone.. I know I will !!! ***

Celebrate ***

I wanted to play with my alcohol inks last night and came up with this background and thought that this new stamp from Hero Arts would look wonderful !!
I stamped the image twice with Jet Black Staz-On after the background was completely dry.
I added some glitter to the centers of the flowers. The ribbon is two sided from Michaels and was the perfect match to my background.
The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and I used my oval Nestabilities to create the layers.
Have a great weekend everyone !!

2008-02-14

Birthday Butterfly ***

This is an Outlines sticker in gold, placed on a piece of watercolor paper. I used Tombow markers to watercolor the image and also used some Hero Arts glitter on the round dots.
I just layered away and added some dew drops. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.
Have a great day everyone and thanks so so much for stopping by.
Just wanted to also say that I have met some wonderful people via this wonderful art of ours and continue to be amazed at the talent and creativity that is out there. One day maybe stampers will rule the world !!! Or maybe we already do ****
Bonnie L. asked what the corner embellishments were *** They are called
Dew Drops and they are small rounds of color and are adhered with glue. I used Tombow Metal Glue. Nancy has had them at Stamp Art as well.

Verve Visual Challenge

Here is another entry for Verve Visual's Sketch Challenge. I used another clear set called Swirly Stars... I used green and ivory linen paper for the background, green satin ribbon and I embossed the stars in copper embossing powder.
I cut them out and mounted everything. The sentiment is stamped with black archival ink and popped up with a dimensional.
I used copper brads in the left hand corner instead of ribbon, paper or sentiments.
Have a great evening everyone...

Fun Mail *** !!! ***

Well Donna, one of my SBS5 sisters came into Stamp Art today (where I work) and had a browse around, we chatted and then when I got home today, I received her package in the mail !!!

My Dear Friend ***

Also I created this card - lets say because of the weather !! I was supposed to host a Pampered Chef party this evening but it was cancelled due to weather. MORE SNOW !!!
So I had a bit of time to stamp before I go out to SHOVEL !!!
Have a great evening everyone and thanks so much for stopping by... Double Kiss

Valentine's Treats ***

The owners of the store at which I work are at CHA this week. Lucky dogs !! They are due back on Thursday so I thought I would welcome them back, on Valentine's Day with this bag of treats. Stampin Up images colored with Copic markers.. I used my square Nestabilities to create the scalloped background... YUM !!

2008-02-11

Amore ***

This stamp is from Innovative Stamp Creations. I stamped it in Blue Bayou on white cardstock and used some of the ink to watercolor the image. I used some Wild Wasabi and Groovy Guava as well.
I used one of the background stamps from the same company, then used the blue ink around the edges.
I also added some glitter to the chain in the middle of the image and the middle of the flower. I added some double sided ribbon as well.
I do believe the paper is Groovy Guava and Blue Bayou as well with white cardstock as a contrast.
Have a great day everyone and try and stay warm !!!

Happy Everything ***

This is a new clear set from Hero Arts. I inked up the flowers with markers and stamped them all the way across my white cardstock. This cardstock from Papertrey Ink is remarkable. It is so thick. I really love it. I then used my brayer and Kaleidacolor Ink in Caribbean Sea and brayered a sky and some grass. I wanted to leave the middle white to give the card a little more dimension.
I stamped the sentiment in Brilliance Black and colored around it with Copic markers that were the same colors as the sky.
Some ribbon from Making Memories and stickles in Yellow for the centers of the flowers.
A very springy card for a cold, freezing, blustery winter day. !!! Freezing Cold

Beate's Weekend Sketch # 34

This is Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge #34.. I used Prism cardstock in dark brown and tan and black linen cardstock. The images are all from Baroque Motifs from Stampin up, stamped in Versafine, Vintage Sepia, and embossed in black on ivory cardstock.
The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.
I wanted something masculine and more formal for a friend's 50th birthday. I also added some copper brads to all four corners.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend.

2008-02-08

Birthday Wishes****

Sometimes you just need a little inspiration so I was looking through a bunch of magazines and catalogues and saw this cute card in a Stampin Up catalogue. I needed to do a young man's birthday card (for my nephew).. I changed it up some !!
The image is from Stampin Up and I colored it with Copic markers. I added a little glitter pen to the heart flames. The "to you" sentiment is from Stampendous and is stamped on a square of cardstock and tied to the twine behind the image.
I crimped the paper that the image is layered on and then just layered away... I like layers !!
Well all my Valentine's Day cards went in the mail today so on to Easter and Spring time !!
Have a great weekend everyone and thankyou so much for stopping by !!

Gift for a Friend

Guess what I treated myself to last night?? A Xyron machine. Everybody in the stamping world probably has one of these but they were on sale at Michael's and I had a coupon !!! so I thought why not. Well I think I have gone adhesive crazy... next !!! lamination !!

Anyway ***

We have been invited to dinner at friend's this weekend before the local OHL hockey game so I thought I would make these cute little treats... The post it note holder is courtesy of Angie Kennedy-Juda of ChicnScratch. This lady comes up with some really neat stuff !!! I used my Xyron machine and covered the coaster back and front, sanded the edges and covered the clip as well.

The tin is from Papertrey Ink and and I covered it with the same paper and added some grosgrain ribbon around the edge. I filled it with long stick pins because my friend is a sewer. Sewing

The paper I had in my bucket and I have no clue who makes it.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day...

Birthday Tea ***

My sister-in-law's birthday is coming up and I always get her a little something. I snagged a really cute mug from Starbucks and then made her a teabag holder that I got from
Lauren Meader's blog. Check it out for all the instructions. It is very simple to create and holds 4 Tazo tea bags. I created the tea bag holder out of heavy vellum. The tea pot and tea cup are from Impression Obsession which I quickly colored with Copic markers. Her card is made out of red and light blue cardstock and I lucked out with the D.P. as the colors matched perfectly. I used a bloom and sentiment from Papertrey Ink. The cardstock is cut out using Oval Nestabilities. I added some red satin ribbon from Michael's and Voila ! Ready to be mailed... My sister-in-law is partial to red too. !!!

Here is the closeup of the tea bag holder that I made... It actually looks like a real teabag...

I Love you ***

This is another submission for the Verve Visual challenge.
It is done with the Heart to Heart clear set and done in purples. I apologize for the HORRIBLE picture but it is so so dreary and rainy here.
I used two of the sentiments in the top left corner instead of ribbon or paper and added a few crystals. I wanted the card to be fairly simple because I think the stamped heart in the centre of the card should be the focal point.
Have a great day everyone !!

Purses full of Choclate ***

I got this idea from Angie Kennedy-Juda's site - Chic n' Scratch. Hers housed the nugget chocolates and since I couldn't find those up here in Canada I used Ghiardelli squares and just modified the purse. I stamped dots all over the pink cardstock, attached the ribbon and punched out a heart for the front. The ladies in my Monday night card class are getting these because we are making Valentine's cards tonight.
Check out Angie's blog. She has some wonderful ideas.
Have a great day everyone...

Hi there everyone. The winner of 2bKrafty's Blog candy is Jen Foley of Inkspiredcreations.
Congratulations Jen and thankyou to all of you who commented and left such wonderful words of praise. I have found a whole new batch of blogs out there that I can visit and learn from.

Verve Visual's Challenge

Here is another card for Verve Visual's Challenge using the "Wild Thing" set.. I am having a little contest with myself... I am going to see what I do more ** post cards or shovel snow !! Geez the stuff keeps coming out of the sky and just won't quit...
Anyway I stamped the heart images with Versamark on the background piece, the strip and the square and then just mounted everything on a lighter or darker teal and white carstock.
The ribbon is from Making Memories and the little flower crystals are from someone.. just found them in one of my little drawers.
The sentiment is stamped with Brilliance Graphite Black..
Have a nice day everyone...

SBS 5 Sister Donna's ATC Challenge

I found this cute little set at Michael's and thought I would do a very simple ATC for Donna's challenge this week. ATC's are so weeny !!!
A few brads and some glitter and I think it will make a nice attachment to a larger Valentine's Day card.
See ya later....
Just a note for those of you who live in London or close to it, Stamp Art is having a garage sale this Saturday and Sunday.. Come on by and check out the deals !!

Wild Thing ***

This is made with Verve Visual's "Wild Thing" clear set. I stamped one image in light pink Versamagic for the background and layered it on black, light pink and black again, using the ticket punch on the first layers.
I added the red wild heart with some red satin ribbon and the sentiment in the corner. I am going to use this set again later in the day so come on back and see what I come up with.
Have a great day... Me *** I am going outside to shovel AGAIN !!!
