SSNOTIME37 *** BLACK AND WHITE PLUS ONE

Friday is time for Sharon's Stamp Simply challenge. This week we were to make a card using black and white and one other color.
Well I wanted to use as many shade of this blue as I could find but nothing I did made me very happy so I settle for black and white and blue.
I love black and white cards with a little punch of color.
The outside sentiment is Impression Obsession and the bird is from Inkadinkado.
I added some dew drops and blue polka dot ribbon.
Actually the hardest part of this card was cutting and punching out the circles and making sure they all lined up properly.
Hope you enjoy and don't forget to check out Sharon's site HERE to see all the black and white plus one creations this weekend.
Have a fabulous weekend everyone!!! I am off for a weekend of R & R with some girlfriends so will see you Sunday***

Have a great day everyone!!!

Quilled Flowers ***

I usually don't post my class projects but I really like how these quilled flowers turned out.
If you haven't tried quilling and have patience you should try it. Some of the projects that you can find are amazing and they certainly add a little flair to your card.
Mailing might be a problem unless you box them up but hand delivering to a favorite friend is a wonderful thing.
Enjoy your evening everyone***

***This One's for You***

My most wonderful, sweet and generous friend Julie from "Out to Impress" sent me all these delicous embellishments for my birthday...
Ribbon, prima flowers and gemstones all in shades of pink and brown.
I have long since ripped apart the packages but wanted to share a card I made incorporating all the wonderful elements she sent to me.
The stamp is a new one from Inkadinkado which I stamped with Walnut stain distress ink, colored the flowers and stems with Copic markers and added gemstones to the centers of the flowers.
The ribbon was added along with the prima flowers. The sentiment is from Hero Arts.
Julie - This one is for you!!! Thank you !!!
Have a great Sunday everyone!! It is gorgeous and sunny in London and I am headed out into my garden. Thanks for stopping by ***

***SSNOTIME36*** Going Buggy

Time for Sharon's Stamp Simply Challenge and this week we were to use a bug on our card or any kind of critter that "bugs" us.
I am not usually one for stories but this one has to have one.
When we moved into our home almost 10 years ago, London, Ontario had this infestation of some sort of aphid so they trucked in all these ladybugs to eat them.
Well the first spring that we were here, the sun is shining, it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood and I go upstairs to clean the bedrooms. I walked into my son's room (he had gone to school) and the walls, his bed, the windows were covered in ladybugs. Hundreds, thousands of them... They had decided to hibernate in our home over the winter and then out them come when the sun shines.
Scared me half to death when I walked in... The bedroom across the hall was the same. Many many ladybugs just crawling everywhere.. Then they would just pop up all over the house. On my stove, the counter, while we were watching TV - one would just fly onto your shoulder. They were like pets!!!
Needless to say, the vacuum cleaner was always at the ready and we still get them but not like that year. So ladybugs BUG me!!
This card opens up on the left and right sides and the inside is covered in ladybugs too.
Have a fabulous day!!!
Don't forget to check out Sharon's site HERE for all the links to her design team. These ladies are so creative.. It will be fun to see what they come up with.

Glitter Butterfly ***

The card part of the this project was easy. Black card base with a layer of gold mirri card then a layer of orange cardstock stamped with the Baroque Motif from Stampin Up in Versamark ink. Stamp the sentiment in black archival ink which is from Hero Arts and then attach a piece of ribbon.
Now for the butterfly. Stamp Art, here in London, Ontario has some wonderful stamps from Outlines Rubber Stamp Company and also has these beautiful Swarovski crystals in all different colors and sizes.
This process takes time and patience!!
Stamp the butterfly on black cardstock and emboss in gold. Brush on a few coats, front and back of Diamond Glaze. Let it dry.. It doesn't take long.
Then attach all your crystals. The part that takes the longest is deciding which size and color you want to use, putting them in the appropriate spot and then attaching them with metal glue. Cut the butterfly out and attach with a dimensional.
When I give this card away, I will also include a piece of magnet tape. The recipient can remove the dimensional and add the magnet tape and put it on their fridge or a filing cabinet or anywhere else they choose.
ENJOY everyone and thanks for stopping by! ***

Here is a closeup of the butterfly with all the crystals.

***Birthday Flowers***

Stampendous makes these wonderful clipboards and they make a nice alternative to a card.
I covered the chipboard with navy blue prism cardstock and used acrylic paint to add orange polka dots.
The flower image is also from Stampendous and was stamped in black archival ink and colored with Tombow markers.
I attached the images to a piece of orange cardstock and trimmed it close and added it to the clipboard. The sentiment is from Daisy Bucket designs and was also attached to some orange cardstock. A piece of yellow grosgrain was added and some bits of ribbon were added to the clip.
Thanks for stopping by everyone and have a fabulous day!!!

*** Pretty Polka Dots ***

I haven't used my polka dot set from Papertrey yet so decided to pull together a quick card for a friend.
I used Snow Cap Pigment Ink with three different sizes of polka dots on brown prism cardstock and trimmed it.
I made a little pocket and edged it with ink and used the sentiment "Friends Forever" on the inside and attached a wonderful brad on the side and then added some brown grograin ribbon.
I think it would have looked better with some brown satin ribbon but I ran out.
Little dots using a white pen were added as well.
It is so much fun to experiment ***
Have a great day...

***Celebrations***

I firstly apologize because the weather does not do the colors in this card justice. Rainy and dreary here. I have taken the photo 7 times ***
Anyway, this is a stamp from American Art Stamps designed by Marsha McCarthy.
I took a piece of white cardstock and rolled several different inks over it with a brayer. A nice lime green, orange, yellow. I then rolled black ink over the stamp with the brayer.. This is one big stamp, and then stamped the image over top.
I colored the flower bouquet with Tombow markers and popped up the largest daisy with a dimensional and added some Stickles in the centers of the smaller flowers.
This stamp has so much detail that I feel that it doesn't need too much else. I layered it to a piece of pink designer paper in my bucket and then to another piece that I had brayered. The card base is a wonderful chartruese colored prism cardstock.
Have a great day everyone!! Thank you so much for stopping by and don't forget to check out the American Art Stamp blog HERE for some wonderful creations by the AAS team.

SSNOTIME35*** Trio of Panels***

Hi everyone! Time for Sharon's Stamp Simply Friday and this week we had to use a trio of panels on our card... any shape, any image, just use three ***
Well when I made this card it was dull, dreary and rainy outside so I wanted something bright, summery and cheery.
So I went to my scrap bin and pulled out all these leftover bits of bright color.
The sun image is from Stampendous, stamped on scrap bits and layered onto black cardstock just to make them pop out a bit more.
The sun centers are interchanged with each other and the sentiment is also a clear set by Stampendous. I also popped up the middle and far right image with dimensionals.
Easy, simple and usin' up scraps. What could be better.

***Best Wishes***

I love this flourish by Hero Arts and used it on some ivory cardstock stamped in dark green ink. I used some antique linen distress ink around the edges.
I layered the squares onto green Bazzill and a darker blue cardstock.
The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink and is punched out using a three tab punch.
I added some swakorski crystals underneath and used the same distress ink around the edges.
The ivory satin ribbon is from Michael's.
I couldn't tell you where the designer paper is from. I had it in one of my buckets and it just fit.

Have a wonderful day everyone. ***

***Just for You***

Just a little book that I found at Staples and covered with D.P. I used an ivory satin ribbon to place around the front cover and then used a Giga round scallop punch out of black suede paper, then ivory Prism cardstock punched out with a circle. I used my Just Rite Monogrammer and added the circle design as well as the "My To Do List"... I added a little gem underneath which is from Hero Arts.
The card is a scallop card puchased at Stamp Art.
They are premade and come in an array of colors.
I added a piece of the same D.P. on the left side and a scallop circle in black and a plain circle in ivory to mimic the altered book.
I used a blossom stamp from Inkadinkado, stamped in black archival ink, and the sentiment from Daisy Bucket designs, as well as the same gem from Hero Arts.
A gift for a special friend of mine ***

***SUMMER***

This is a stamp by Marsha McCarthy, one of the designers for American Art Stamp.
It is called "Summer" and you can see her collection of stamps HERE.
I colored the stamp with Tombow markers and stamped it on white linen paper and trimmed it closed to the edge... I layered onto white linen again, then teal blue then a nice summery yellow. The sentiment is from Hero Arts and is stamped in black archival ink on white linen, layered onto yellow with some wonderful sparkly gems added.
I used the Retro squares cuttle bug embossing folder on the teal blue and hot pink cardstock and mounted them onto a yellow card base.. I added some yellow satin ribbon as well. I added the image at an angle as well as the sentiment. It just didn't want to go on straight!!!
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by... Don't forget to take a peak at all the wonderful creations on the American Art Stamp Blog..

SSNOTIME34 *** Stitching - Faux or Real

Time for Sharon's Stamp Simply Friday *** Today stitching is the main stay of our cards, be it real stitching or faux *** Well my sewing maching hasn't seen the light of day for many years so I decided to do some faux stitching on the this card. The image from Penny Black is stamped in black archival ink on watercolor paper and quickly watercolored with Tombow markers. I used a little antique linen distress ink over the whole piece and stamped the sentiment from Daisy Bucket designs in Sepia versafine ink.
I don't have a stitching template so I drew a light pencil line down all four edges of the card, used my piercer and made holes all the way around and then used a brown gel pen to create the lines.
I layered to a burnt orange prism cardstock and then again to a lighter orange that I used another solid Penny Black image in versamark ink. The whole piece is layered to the burnt orange card base.
I hope you enjoy all the cards that this talented design team creates this week. Check out Sharon's site HERE for all the links ***

Have a great weekend everyone and thank you so much for stopping by !!

Walking Angel *** in blue

I am waiting on my supply of stamps from American Art stamp.. and since I have the Walking Angel image I did up another card using it. I stamped the angel three times, cutting out a third angel and popping it up in the middle using dimensionals.
I colored the angels with Copics and used gold micro beads for their wings. I layered onto sky blue cardstock, then gold mirri card. Before attaching to the card base, I stamped the good thoughts sentiment from Hero Arts onto vellum wrapping it around the image.

A little altered item ***

I found these great little to do lists at my local store and altered this one for a good friend of mine. She will know who she is if she browses the blog today***
The paper is by Daisy Bucket and the monogram is from Just Rite Monograms. I used the slot punch to create the scallops on the side and a Giga scallop punch to create the circles.
I added some swakorski crystals down the side as well.
I will be away for the next few days as my older son is having surgery!! And then he graduates from University on Saturday!! It is a busy time for all of us ***
I have some posts scheduled for the next few days but forgive me if I don't post comments on your blogs. It will all depend if I can get to use my son's computer (lol)... while he is recuperating.

Birthday Flowers ***

Good afternoon! I used a new clear set from Stampendous for this card called "Flower Tops". I stamped the images in black archival ink onto white cardstock all the way around the outside of the square piece. I layered to some great black and white polka dot paper that I found at Target last weekend when I was in the States, and then to black linen.
I cut a pice of black linen 2 3/4" square and then a piece of white cardstock just a bit smaller. I stamped a flower image on the one side of the white piece. I used the slot punch to cut out the center and thread a piece of ribbon through and tied it in front.
I used a Cuttlebug tag die and stamped a Papertrey sentiment on it and tied it to the ribbon with black linen thread.
This was attached to the black square after I used the ticket punch and of course I had to add some pearl dew drops.
I added a little bit of doodling around the outer edges as well.

I hope you are enjoying your Sunday... *** Thanks so much for all your birthday wishes and also for stopping by my site.. I truly appreciate your visits!!

***SSNOTIME33*** Think Spring *** Pink and Green

Sharon's challenge this week was to use pink and green and flowers in our card... and to keep it simple!! I used a clear stamp from Daisy Bucket - Berry Sprig. It was stamped in Green Galore and Pink Passion, inks from Stampin Up, around the outside edge of white cardstock. The sentiment is also a clear stamp from Stampendous, stamped in Pink Passion ink. The plastic flowers and leaves are from Creative Impressions, attached with green brads. I layered onto pink passion and green galore cardstock and there you have it *** Flowers, Pink and Green *** Springtime in a Card ***

*** Bunches of Love***

It is my niece's birthday today and this is the little bag I made for her (She is 6)... Check out Stampendous's site for instructions. I made the bag out of paper by Daisy Bucket. Look below for all the little treats for inside... I used a sentiment by Penny Black stamped in black archival ink onto white cardstock, layered onto royal blue and attached to the outside of the card. I then added a few primas and some great ribbon.

Have a great day everyone!!!

These are the little cards that I made for the inside of the bag. They are done with Penny Black's new clear set called "Zoophabet". I stamped in Black Brilliance and colored with copics. Then layered onto some royal blue cardstock cut to 3 1/2" square. I added a little clipboard from Stampendous.
The bag is made from designer paper by Daisy Bucket. Lovely stuff.. Polka dots !! The clipboard is covered with the same paper.
