SSNOTIME76***CABIN FEVER

Time for Sharon's Stamp Simply Weekend Challenge*** About this time of the year those of us in the northwoods get Cabin Fever*** I know I have it BIG TIME*** Being from the very north - Canada that is- we are SOOOOOOOOOOOO ready for a little sunshine, warmth and getting our hands into the dirt in our gardens.

This weekend's challenge is to make a card or project that will bring some signs of spring, new life, fresh air and warmer temperatures to those of us still cooped up inside.

SPRING IS COMING!!!

This card uses this wonderful designer paper from Basic Grey, a clear floral stamp set from Clearly Defined, a sentiment from Anna Wight and a prima from my stash.

Enjoying High Tea***

Hi everyone!! As you know we were in Toronto on the weekend enjoying High Tea at the Old Mill for my Mom's birthday***

This is MOM!!! We had a great time... All her grandchildren were there and her children and spouses and My DAD!!! It was a lovely afternoon...

The card that I made for Mom is made from Papertrey Ink's Quilt Sampler set, colored with Copics. This card is a remake of one made by Debbie Olsen.

Mom's Gift Set

This is the gift set I made my Mom for her birthday.. The designer paper is My Mind's Eye. I used the Desk Top Organizer Template for the papers. You can see all the templates created by Lauren Meader HERE.

I used ivory linen paper from Staples and cut them into 4 1/4' x 5 1/2" and added the monogram which is from Papertrey Ink.

The other two boxes are designed by Michelle Giraud and the templates can be purchased HERE.

I found this fabulous satin ribbon that has the same flowers prinited on it that are on the paper. I also added my Mom's monogram on a labels nestabilitie.

I used some Basic Grey magnets to keep the boxes closed. They work like a charm...

Round Top Box***

I am seeing my little nieces this weekend *** We are going out for High Tea at the Old Mill in Toronto. We are celebrating my Mom's birthday***

The girls are 6 and 2 so I made them these round top boxes filled with a writing pad, crayons and pencils.

I added a sentiment from Anna Wight's set and some yellow satin ribbon.

The designer paper is from October Afternoon. I used it to make the boxes and cover the writing pad..

This should keep them busy during High Tea***

This week its black ink only. No color, no crayons, not Copics, no pencil crayons no ink other than black !!!





Well once I got my head wrapped around this fact it was easy peasy!!

My card is white cardstock with a strip of black and white polka dot paper from Papertrey Ink. The ribbon is black satin from Michael's. The butterflies and sentiment are also Papertrey Ink and stamped in black versafine ink.

Easter Joy***

I just think this little clear set from Stampendous is the sweetest thing!! The chick and eggs were stamped in Memento Black ink and colored with Prismacolor pencils

A prima flower was added to the sentiment and the edges of both images were roughed up using a distressor.

Basket Case***

Good afternoon everyone*** When I saw the new basket template created by Lauren Meader for Papertrey Ink I just NEEDED it!!

I printed it off onto Kraft cardstock and distressed the edges of all the pieces with Vintage Photo distress ink

I put the basket together - quickly and easily I might add.

I stuffed it with tea and a teabag holder for my sister in law.

I added a little ribbon and added the cup! I also added some chunky glitter to the steam..

Just a cute little gifty!!!

Birthday star***

Good afternoon everyone! I hope you all have had a great weekend thus far... We have... Dinner at friends last night, painted the front hallway today, friends over for dinner tonight.

I put this card together using Cornish Heritage Farms Simplify set. I first used distress inks in Spiced Marmalade and Broken China and water to give it that mottled effect. I then stamped the tree in Majestic Blue versafine ink. I added a tin star and a sentiment from Papertrey Ink. I pierced around the edge of the mustard cardstock as well...

SSNOTIME74***MONOGRAM IT***

This week's STAMP SIMPLY CHALLENGE is all about monograms... You can make anything you like as long as there is a monogram somewhere on your project!! Make a card, alter a book, decorate a gift bag and include a monogram..

I found these great wooden hearts at Michael's last week. I used some wonderful designer paper from My Mind's Eye, glued it on and added a few coats of Modge Podge...

A couple of buttons and a monogram for my friend Stephanie. The letters I used are from Inkadinkado.

I attached a magnet on the back and she can put this on her fridge***

A Thursday Quickie***

I used the Birthday embossing folder in my Cuttle Bug, added a Happy Birthday sentiment from Stampin Up which is punched out using their scallop punch.

A quick bit of ribbon, and some dew drops.

Voila!!!

Button Mania***

This card is made using Papertrey Ink's "Remember" set designed by Lisa Johnson.

I stamped the flourish on Kraft cardstock and then used my bit box and found some bright pieces of cardstock. I stamped the poppies on them and cut them out, then added buttons and twine.

I also added a sentiment from the "Birthday Basics" set also from Papertrey Ink.

Butterflies and Polka Dots***

Good morning everyone!! I used a set that has been on my desk forever. It is from Inkadinkado I stamped the butterfly image with Black Memento ink and colored with my prismacolor pencils.

The designer paper is from my bit box and the sentiment is from the same set. The ribbon is Papertrey Ink. I added dot sparklers from Stampendous.

Polka Dot Day***

I love polka dots so much!! My sister in law is celebrating a birthday soon so I made her this card and ornament.

The card is made with a Penny Black stamp. I stamped it with Black Memento ink and colored with prismacolor pencils and gamsol.

I used a little antique linen distress ink on the edges and added buttons for the centers.

I finally did a little sewing on my card which worked out ok.

The designer paper is Wild Asparagus.

The heart ornament is a wooden one that I found at Michael's. I covered it with the same designer paper and applied a few coats of Modge Podge.

The little tin star and button were added along with some waxed twine.

I'M ON A ROLL***

I found this little heart pattern that I had, stitched it up three times on some muslin and then turned them into pillows. A few Valentine's Day gifts!!

Some Stitchin***

I do alot of work with wool felt and I love primitive stitchery but I don't often post it... I forget to.

So today I am showing you two projects that I just completed. The SNOW project is done with wool felt and stitched up with the blanket stitch. The other project is a candle mat that I stitched on muslin and then backed with some fun red polka dot fabric.

SSNOTIME73 LET'S GET NEGATIVE***

Hi everyone!! Time for Sharon's Stamp Simply Challenge and this time we are getting negative*** with negative images that is!!!



You can do this challenge by using negative images of punches or die cuts OR by using a negative image, or reversed out, stamp. (When punching out a shape, the negative image is the sheet left over with the hole in it, rather than the object punched. A negative image stamp is one where the main image or words are left unstamped, but all the surrounding area is stamped - just the opposite of a normal stamp) To clarify, you MAY use the punched or die cut shape ALONG WITH your negative image if you desire, as long as the negative image is used as well. Same with stamps -- you may use a regular stamp, as long as a negative image is used. As long as there is one negative image on your card it's OK, you need not incorporate both stamps and punches, but you have the option to use either.

Here is mine!! I wanted to keep this super simple so I used a Martha Stewart punch and punched out 5 flowers out of the dark cardstock and then put a white piece in behind. I added some pearl accents and a white ribbon. It is a bit of an illusion because the sentiment flower is a punched piece that I added. Hope you like it!! Remember to keep it simple when you play***

High Fashion***

Hi everyone***

My husband and I are invited to a Valentine's Day party at a friends home and I said that I would make all the ladies a little something special. When I saw Lauren Meader's

Purse-onality Clutch template I thought what a cute idea. Then I saw someone else on Nichole Heady's blog had done a similar thing so I went to town...

Using the template I cut it out and added some black accents to the handle and the flaps. The bod of the purse was cut out in pink cardstock.

I used Papertrey Ink's Borders and Corners - (circles) and the Heart Prints set to create the design on the white cardstock.

I found these wooden hearts at Michael's and painted them pink, then added a pearl accent.

I used a square dimensional so that the flap could be tucked in behind the heart and stay put.

A little black ribbon on the handle and VOILA!! I am going to add choclates when I am done.

I have 6 more to make!!

Simple Thinking of you***

I used a clear set from Stampendous to create this simple little card for a friend's birthday. Stamped in black, colored with Copics and a little prima flower added.
