Easter Chick***

A little Easter chick trying to be a bunny from Stampendous. I stamped her with Memento Black ink and colored her with Lyra pencils.
I used a scallop nestability to add a little interest around the circle. A little glitter on the egg and some stitching on the designer paper which you probably can't see.
The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

This card is based on one done by
Michelle Giraud. I used the Doodle Flowers by Inkadinkado, colored them with Prismacolor pencils and cut them out.
I added a little bit of glitter and a sentiment from Papertrey Ink along with a few purple dew drops.

Do you remember when we were taught not to mix patterns when we dressed ourselves?? Never wear plaid and stripes! Never wear stripes and dots!! Well this week Sharon's STAMP SIMPLY CHALLENGE is all about throwing those rules right out with the bath water...

Find all those pieces of wonderful patterned paper that have stripes and dots and use them together with other patterned paper or with each other*** Have fun with this one!!

My card showcases this wonderful designer paper from My Mind's Eye!! How simple!! Dots on one side and stripes on the other... Perfect! The flower image is from Kim Hughes, colored very quickly with Lyra pencils and gamsol... A bit of ribbon, a gemstone and Bob's your uncle!!!

Update***

Hello everyone!! I have had a fabulous couple of days!!

Monday morning I drove to Markham Ontario and spent the morning at STAMPING BELLA!!

What a great store. Lots of wonderful Bella stamps and ribbons and PAPER!!!

I did splurge a little and invested in a set of Lyra pencils... I am in HEAVEN!! They are fabulous.

( I can see my sons rolling their eyes right about now)***

Here are a few of the Bellas I purchased as well. I am so looking forward to using my new pencils on these!!

were there as well and we had some fun with Kellie the store owner, Helen and Nicky who both work there.

I was able to spend time with my Mom and Dad and my younger son in the afternoon and evening and then off the Copic Certification all day Tuesday... Great day! Learned lots and now I have to practice, practice, and practice some more.

Tuesday night I spent with my brother and his wife and my two cute, darling nieces. We had a delicious meal and got caught up... What a fabulous couple of days.!!!

Easter Flowers***

I was at Scrappin Great Deals yesterday and I spied this High Hopes Bunny and just had to have him*** I stamped him on ivory cardstock with Black Memento ink and colored him with Copics. I am practicing as I am taking a class next week.

The designer paper is K & Company. I want to let this bunny stand on his own so no sentiments or ribbons or bangles or bling***

SSNOTIME79***RIBBON TABS

Friday!! YAY!!! It's the end of the week... No more accounting, no more invoicing, no more crunching numbers. At least for two days!!
It is time however for Sharon's Stamp Simply Challenge and this week it's all about ribbon tabs. Drag out all those bits of ribbon that you have lying around and create a card with them.
You can use one tab or have a bunch of tabs!! Your imagination - let it run amok!!
I had this idea in my head all week and wanted to use Easter as a theme. I need to get more Easter cards made soon!!

I used a great green Bazzill as the card base and some wonderful designer paper that I picked up in Port Huron on our way to a Detroit Red Wings game. That was so much fun!!
I made a little pocket out of vellum and then used an image from the Sarah Phelps collection for Impression Obsession, stamped in Black Memento ink and colored with Copics.

The ribbon is from my stash and attached with a yellow brad.

The sentiment is stamped over the vellum and is from Penny Black.

For A Friend***

My good friend Mary fell and broke her ankle a few weeks ago and has been at home not being able to do much until her injury heals some.. She and her husband Dave have a great network of friends who have been visiting, calling and making food. I thought that these little cards with their own envelopes would be a great gift for her so that she could send out thank yous when the mood strikes.

I used the Captured Card Case Template designed by Lauren Meader for Papertrey Ink.
The flower image and sentiment are also from a new set by Papertrey Ink. Lauren Meader has a great tutorial for this project on her blog HERE.

I just used different colors and stamps. I also attached the designs on the top of the box only to the ribbon so that Mary can easily slide the ribbon off and get to the cards and envelopes.

SSNOTIME78*** WHITE MATS

Hi everyone!! Time for Sharon's Stamp Simply Challenge for this Friday.. And it's all about matting your card in white. It gives it a clean crisp feel and makes your focal point really stand out I think.
So you can use multiple mats but at least one of them must be white.
My image is a new one that I snapped up at Stamp Art here in London Ontario from SparklenSprinkle. I simply stamped it in black on white cardstock, colored with Prismacolor pencils, matted in black and then a big white mat. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink.

Birthday wishes***

Sorry that this is so dark... Still dark here in London and snowing AGAIN!!!

I get lots of inspiration from Nichole Heady's blog and decided to pull out the original Guidelines set and play around.
I used Versafine ink in Majestic Blue for the Guidelines and the decorative pattern.
I added some Tea Dye distress ink around the edges and realized at that point that the blue ink wasn't completely dry so it smudged some but I like the effect. Not quite as crisp as it would have been.
Some tiny little gemstones were added in the middle of each pattern and navy blue satin ribbon.
The sentiment is also from a Papertrey Ink set.

Spring chicks***

Hey here are my spring chicks!! Stamped in Black Memento ink onto white cardstock, colored with Prismacolor pencils. The blue paper is from my bit box and the green is from Papertrey Ink. Just a simple bright spring -y card!!!

Somewhat of a Doublemint commercial***

Hi everyone!! Hope you all had a great weekend.
Last night I wanted to make a card using one of the new sets from Papertrey ink.
I stamped the tree in pink colorbox ink onto white cardstock and added some vintage buttons also from Papertrey. As a matter of fact so is the sentiment.
The designer paper is from Basic Grey and the ribbon from Stampin Up. The second one is roughed up around the edges for a little bit of a different look.

I apologize*** I am not very good at telling you all the time what things are and where they are from. I get everything done, run upstairs, get the pics onto my blog and then FORGET!!

An Introduction and a Card***

I want to introduce you to someone that I have met here in blogland. Her name is Wendy and her blog is called "2 kids, 2 dogs, 2 cars, 2 tired" ***

She lives in Manitoba, Canada and is married to the "Captain"... Her husband is in the Canadian Armed Forces and is currently doing a stint overseas.

When Wendy isn't running around after her 2 kids and 2 dogs she writes on her blog and let me tell you this woman will make you laugh, make you cry, make you think and make you want to come back for more.

Here is my card today.. A birthday card for my niece... A Bella stamp that I picked up at "Scrappin Great Deals" here in London.
What a great store!!
I colored her with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol. The designer paper is some new paper from My Mind's Eye.. front and back.
The card base is Ocean Tides from Papertrey Ink and so is the sentiment.

SSNOTIME77***EMBOSSED ELEGANCE

Time again for Sharon's Stamp Simply Challenge and today it's all about embossing.

It's not something I do alot of and I thought this challenge was a good one for simplicity!!

The Penny Black image is embossed in Queen's Gold embossing powder on dark green cardstock. A strip of ivory satin ribbon was added along the side with a sentiment from Papertrey Ink, stamped onto ivory cardstock and layered onto gold mirri card.

I needed simplicity today as I am up to my armpits in laundry, office work, groceries etc.

Did I just get back from a vacation or something??

Hi Everyone***

We are back from Tampa Florida a little rested and a little tanned. The weather was sunny but COLD!! Not cold enough to prevent these Canadians from sitting on the beach and soaking up the sunshine though.
We were able to visit with family and see the sites for a few days!!
A big hello to our UNCLE DON AND AUNT HELEN !!! They are well and in great spirits and it was fabulous to see them.

I now have a ton of catching up to do and cards to make. It is supposed to be going up over the freezing mark here in Ontario this weekend!! Spring is on it's way!!!

A Simple Birthday greeting***

This card is made with a set from Papertrey Ink, designed by Heather Nichols... I love it's simplicity. The vine was stamped on the pink cardstock with Versamark ink and again on the ivory cardstock with Olive green ink. The dots were stamped with pink colorbox ink.

A simple sentiment from Printworks, satin ribbon from Michael's and dew drops.

This card is made with one of Hero Arts new clear sets, stamped with Black Memento ink, colored with Copics. My nestabilitie circle and circle scallops were used, some fabulous designer paper from Basic Grey, cardstock and ribbon in Raspberry Fizz from Papertrey Ink and Thickers in Lime Green.
