Houses for Birds***

Papertrey Inks new release for this month included this birdhouse image which I think is so sweet*** I stamped it in Black memento ink onto PTI's new rustic cream cardstock and colored it with my Lyras and gamsol. I love this new cardstock... It has a bit of a fleck in it!! PTI's cardstock is my all time favorite***

I used my deckle nestabilitie to cut it out and attached it to the other side of the designer paper I used.

I also used PTI's new twine and vintage buttons.

Saturday Christmas Card***

I got two more done for my Christmas card stash*** The image is from Art Impressions, stamped in black archival ink and watercolored with Tombow markers and then glitter added.

I used my label nestabilities two different ways and added some dew drops.

The designer paper is Cosmo Cricket with some raggy stitching and then onto red cardstock.

Hi there everyone!! Time for Sharon's Stamp Simply challenge and this week

SPRING HAS SPRUNG! - For some of us, spring is just springing and for others summer may be in full bloom already. But wherever you are, spring and summer are synonymous with flowers -- beautiful flowers. Today's challenge is to pull out your FAVORITE flower stamp and make a beautiful floral creation for us. You ARE allowed to use images or flowers from sources other than stamps (preprinted images, primas, etc.), just as long as some favorite flowers are the main focus of the project. Let us fill cyberland with the fragrance of beautiful flowers this week!!!

I decided to alter a little pad of paper to give to a friend of mine. I used some deep burgundy Bazzill cardstock and measured it to fit the pad of paper. I also cut a small strip to cover the top of the pad.

I looked through all my flower stamps but I wanted to keep it really simple so I used a journaling note from Crafty Secrets. I added it to a piece of the same burgundy cardstock to give it some weight, added an eyelet and some ribbon. Then I thought - "how can this get used again so instead of gluing it to the yellow cardstock I used a clip and now when the pad of paper is done they use this as a bookmark. I only glued the yellow piece of cardstock at the very top.

The flowers on the journaling note remind me of summer!!!

A Recipe Box***

Hi everyone!! Laurie Schmidlin of "Just give me stamps" made this great little recipe box so I thought I would make one for my sister - in - law!! I used some wonderful paper from my stash and used Papertrey Ink's "Recipe Box" set for the dividers and used Hero Arts Kitchen set as well to add some embellishments to each divider.

Sorry that the one picture is so dark... This was a fun project to make... Hope you enjoy it and thanks for stopping in***

This thank you card I did tonight with Papertrey Ink's Around and About sentiments set.. The words are stamped in black archival ink and the flowers in Razzberry chalk ink.

Simply layered to white and black and razzberry pink cardstock. The scallop circle is from Stampin Up and the ribbon is Papertrey Ink.

RED, WHITE AND BLUE - This being Memorial Day Weekend, patriotic colors come to mind, so let's create today using red, white and blue; HOWEVER, you do NOT have to use the traditional flag shades of these colors - you may use ANY variation of these colors you like, as long as your creation contains some shade of red, white and blue. That's easy enough!!! Hope you have fun!!! Can't wait to see all your color combinations!

My card keeps it simple with red white and blue cardstock. I used the star from Papertrey Ink anniversary set, stamped in Poppy Red and Ocean blue and cut out.

The button is from my stash and the sentiment is also from Papertrey.

Tuesday Twinkle***

Like several others I am trying to make a Christmas card a week so that I am not inundated at the last minute with lots and lots of cards to make.

For this card I used a gate fold base in navy blue bazzill and designer paper from My Mind's Eye.

The snowman, sentiment, and snowflakes are from Inkadinkado, stamped in Majestic blue versafine. The snowman is quickly colored with Lyra pencils. No gamsol...

A little glitter was added and a few gemstones.

Bella's challenge***

This card was done for Stamping Bella's weekly challenge and this week we were to use gold and bling... I stamped my Ketto in black memento ink and colored her with Copic markers and gold sparkly pen. I cut her out with a circle nestabilitie and used some gold Encore ink around the edge. I cut out the scallop circle from gold paper from Papertrey ink and added some black gemstones... She is positioned simply on some dark purple cardstock.

LIVE A LITTLE AND LAUGH ALOT***

Hi there everyone!! Thanks for stopping by*** I made this card for my sister-in-law. Navy blue was the cardbase layered with designer paper from my bucket. I used a deckle nestabilitie to cut through the designer paper and the cardstock to create a window. I stamped the daisy border from High Hopes onto the cream cardstock inside. It was colored with Lyras and gamsol. I used the cut out piece above the window to house the sentiment which is from Hero Arts. I added a ribbon and also covered a little notebook that I picked up from WalMart. The stamp on the front is from Stampendous and the "just a note" from Just Rite.

Today Sharon's STAMP SIMPLY CHALLENGE is to create a card for the man in your life.. With Father's Day right around the corner we can all use a few extra cards in our stash.

But the catch is to use twine, rope, cording or jute in your card.

Remember to keep it simple too!!

My card uses kraft cardstock as my base and designer paper from my stash actually. The jute is from Michael's and the sentiment is from , cut out from a deckle nestabilitie. The big brad is from Making Memories.

Simple, some fun colors and it can be used for Father's Day, a birthday or just as a thinking of you card.

This card was fun to create... I used Papertrey Inks set and stamped the flowers in bright pink chalk ink and cut them out. The stems were stamped with Citron chalk ink onto cream cardstock and the flowers popped up.

A little dragonfly was stamped and cut out and placed onto the one flower.

Simply layered onto papers from my stash and then onto Raspberry Fizz cardstock. The sentiment is from the same set and then some pink gemstones from Hero Arts add the finishing touch.

Birthday wishes for a man in your life***

This card was made for a friend's son... I find guy cards so hard sometimes but when I decided to used Papertrey Inks Guide Lines it just all seemed to fall into place.

I used Ocean chalk ink and Versafine Sepia ink. It was simply layered on chocolate brown cardstock and then onto white. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink Mega Messages and some chocolate brown pearls were added as well as chocolate brown satin ribbon...

Tea Time***

These teapots are from Papertrey Ink.. I stamped them with Black Memento ink and colored them with Copics. I added a little flower flourish which is from Stampendous stamped in Vintage cream ink from Papertrey. I then added a nice layer of Diamond glaze to give them that glassy look.

I cut out a circle from Kraft cardstock and a pinked circle nestabilitie is the layer underneath that. The designer papers are from my stash and the sentiment is also from Papertrey Ink.

The ribbon on the inside of the card is going to hold a teabag in place and these are going to friend's in Stratford just to let them know I am thinking about them...

Good afternoon everyone!! I hope you are all having a lovely Mother's Day!

Nichole Heady has a great pdf file on her blog today with a template for this cute little birdhouse.
I cut out the body in a light blue cardstock and used Papertrey Inks polka dots stamped in blue Chalk ink to decorate..
The roof is cut out of a scalloped rectangle nestabilitie. I used Stampin Up's scallop circle punch to add a little fun to the window and the sentiment and tree are also from Papertrey Ink.

I didn't have anything to fill my birdhouse with but I am still going to give this to my friend who collects birdhouses.

JUST A LITTLE THING - Mothers' Day is just around the corner so let's make "Just a Little Thing" for Mom - or for whomever you please. Today we are making small creations -- and the choice is yours! You could make an ATC, a bookmark, a small project with an Inchie, a tiny card (3 x 3 or smaller), a gift tag -- whatever you can dream up -- but make JUST A LITTLE THING today. Can't wait to see what you all come up with!!!! Have fun!!!

My little project happened by accident... I was rooting around in my stuff when I came upon these little tags and I didn't realize that they were attached.. So when I opened them they looked like a little tryptych!! So I distressed the edges in Shabby Shutters and Broken China distress inks, stamped the sentiment in black ink which is from Inkadinkado and the rose is also from the same set. I added a little glitter and there you go!! A cute little tag for Mom's day!!! It would look wonderful attached to a gift bag or tucked into a basket of flowers...

FOR MY MOM***

Hi everyone!! Thought I would share a little project that I made for my Mom... I used a sturdy artist's canvas, covered it with paper using Modge Podge. The flourish was embossed in white embossing powder. I used a little distress ink in Antique Linen to soften up the edges of the torn paper. The Mother sentiment is from Papertrey Ink, the ribbon from Anna Griffin and the primas from my stash. It's a very simple project but I thought using the canvas was fun because it will last so much longer and being covered with Modge Podge will protect it as well.

From my sweet friend Chris***

So... Chris and I met each other years ago... Our husbands played hockey together. We fell out of touch... you know... kids, work, kids, and kids...

We met them about two years ago in the mall and talked for about two hours and have reconnected. We see each other ALL the time now and it is just the best thing that could have happened.

This is Chris' gift to me for my birthday.. The flower was supposed to be real and it isn't... I was supposed to get a pottery jug and I didn't (yet) and she thinks the card is gross but I don't!!

She is just the sweetest person ***

Baked Fresh***

Hi everyone!! I hope to be baking this weekend for my Mom so I decided to make a card to go along with whatever I might conjure up.

The chicken and bowl and sentiment is from a new set by Anna Wight!! Love her stuff!

I stamped her in Memento Black and colored her with Lyras and used the nestabilitie as a mask for my color box chalk inks. I used the little grasses from Art Impressions for under her feet.

I also used some diamond glaze on the bowl and some vintage buttons from Papertrey Ink... Set my machine on zigzag but realized I didn't have any thread. Oops!! Turned out ok though.

Picture Day***

Hi everyone!!! I have arrived back from Montreal and I had a fabulous time.

A little bit of history here! These lovely ladies are my very best friends!***

Deb, Mary and I have birthdays in the same year, three days apart.

We have been celebrating for 23+ years, every year.

Monica, my sweet friend in Montreal has the same birthday as my friend Deb, May 1st but she is one year younger. We celebrated this past weekend at the family farm.

These three women are such a big part of my life !!! Happy Birthday to us!! I love you all!!!
