Celebrate***

Hi everyone!! A good friend of mine's grandson is having a birthday soon so I am sending along this card... The paper is from K and Company.. double sided so used both sides with a little bit of a navy border in between them... ala Sharon Johnson... She loves this!!

The cupcake is from the newly released set from Papertrey Ink.. A whole slew of different bottoms and tops and sprinkles.

I stamped the blue in Adirondack Denim and colored the cupcake top with a Copic marker. The little dots on top of the cupcake had a little sprinkle of glitter added.

The ribbon is from Michael's... The sentiment is also from Papertrey Ink...

Simply for You***

We are having company from the States in a few weeks and I thought I would make these little gifts for them... A simple box constructed out of 29th Market Street paper...A nice heavy cardstock designer paper... I put 4 little candles in the box and wrapped it in Papertrey Ink ribbon. A scallop circle and regular circle out of nestabilities and the sentiment is from PTI. The little flower gem is from Hero Arts.

Combo Challenge -- Today's challenge is two-fold -- a color challenge and simple technique. COLORS -- grassy green and sky blue. I've always loved blue and green together. You MAY add other colors, just make sure you get in plenty of the greens and blues. SIMPLE TECHNIQUE - PIERCE.

I thoroughly wet a piece of watercolor paper and then used Lime Green and Baby Blue H2O's to color the grass and the sky... The flowers are Papertrey Ink as well as the simple sentiment.

I added some gems for the centers and I pierced the stems and all around the outside of the main image.

This card is made with a set from Anna Wight - again!! I just love her stuff!!

I stamped the chicken and the hay bale with black archival ink and then used my Tombow markers and water to color the scene.

The grass is a stamp from Art Impressions.

The ribbon is from Michaels and the button from Papertrey Ink. This card is for my first born who will be 23 next week...

Hi everyone!! Loving this summer weather - FINALLY!!! Hot and humid here in London Ontario...

So being outside means not so many cards made but I did manage a few last night.

This one is done with a set from Anna Wight... I colored the flowers and leaves with Lyras and gamsol, cut the flowers and leaves out and popped one of them up at the bottom of the card.

The designer paper is Cosmo Cricket and the ribbon is from Michael's...

SSNOTIME92***SUMMER RECIPES

We all love getting new recipes to try out. Today our challenge is to make a card, or recipe card, or anything at all that will either hold a recipe or that we can write a recipe on AND there's one more part that's optional, but would be fun. SHARE your favorite summer recipe with us in your post -- I think we'd ALL love to get some new recipes. And it's summer -- the recipes don't need to be hard -- they can be as simple as what you throw into your favorite tossed salad, or a picnic dish, or whatever. I'd love to get some new ideas -- have fun with it!!!

My family and I tend to eat healthy food most of the year. That means not too much red meat.

However when the summer arrives we like to let loose and eat big juicy hamburgers, sausages, ribs *** You know summer meat!!!

I always make my own BBQ sauce and keep a stash in the fridge...

My recipe may look complicated but it isn't *** Just throw it all in the pot and simmer away.

My recipe card is a ready made one from Papertrey Ink... The hamburger image is from Lockhart Stamp Company, colored with Copics.. It's an inchie so it's perfect for a recipe card.

Here is my recipe for HomeMade BBQ sauce.

2 T. Butter

1/2 spanish onion diced

3 minced garlic cloves

1 28 oz. can diced tomatoes

1/4 cup ketchup

3 T. molasses

2T Dijon mustard

2 T. brown sugar

1 T honey

2 T. Chili powder

1T paprika

1 T Worchestshire sauce

In large saucepan, melt butter and saute onions and garlic for about three minutes. Add tomatoes and simmer 15 minutes. Add rest of ingredients and simmer 20 minutes. Puree and let cool.

Good morning everyone!! Here is a new image from Emerson Quillin who designs for American Art Stamp.
I stamped the donut lady with black memento ink and colored her in with Copics, Lyras and gamsol.
A few snippets of ribbon and some designer paper and this card was done.

Picnic Basket gifts***

Just a quick post today everyone!! Off and running this morning!

I love the new Pack a Picnic template by Lauren Meader for Papertrey Ink.

I had fun putting these together.

And the inside is big enough for a multitude of things... I added a citronella candle and a dish towel in great summer colors.

Just a little something for my friends who are coming tomorrow for lunch!!

Happy Day***

The large and small sentiments are from Wordsworth stamped onto a tag. The tag was inked up with distress inks in Weathered Wood, Shabby Shutters and Vintage Photo and water.

I added a large brad and a black mat as well as a few dew drops.

Very simple but does the trick for those hard to make cards for guys!!!

Happy Saturday everyone!!! Hope you are enjoying the day! This card is for someone special.. I received the Caffeine set from the fabulous Kellie Fortin and thought I would use it today.
I stamped the image with black tuxedo ink, and colored it with Copics and added some diamond glaze. The image is punched out with a circle punch and then added to the scallop circle which has the sentiment on it. I popped up the cup to add a little dimension. Again I added a larger black circle as well.
The punched border is from Martha Stewart and the designer paper is two sided so I used both sides. The ribbon is from Michael's...

SSNOTIME91***HALF CIRCLES***

Today's challenge -- create a card using a large half circle as part of the layout. You will create your own layout. I think it'll be fun to see all that we end up with. Don't get me wrong -- the card does NOT have to be a circle or half circle, but there must be a half cirle as part of the basic layout. You may make your circle with punches, Nesties, whatever. Sharon's favorite way to get a large 1/2 circle is to trace her Corelle desert bowl, upside down. Once cut, it is a perfect 5.5" circle -- great for a card!!! Use whatever means you need to get a large half circle.

I immediately thought of balloons. I used a variety of circle punches and punched out some circles in bright colored cardstock. Keeping it simple I used white as the base and then attached the circles all around the card cutting off what I didn't need. The balloon and sentiment are from Autumn Leaves. A little glitter on the balloon and there you have it!! SIMPLE***

A Stash card***

I wanted to use up some pieces that were on my desk so put this thank you card together for some friends of ours. The cardbase and burgundy bazzill are pieces that were left over. The designer paper didn't quite fit so I tore it to give the line some interest. The primas are from my flower bucket attached with gold brads.

The tag is from Spellbinders stamped with a sentiment from Papertrey Ink. The ribbon is Stampin Up.

A Quickie***

Hi everyone!! Just a quick post today!! Off to the gym!! I love Penny Black flower stamps for their versatility. I just used my Tombow markers, colored directly onto the stamp and then onto white cardstock. A little blue shading with a sponge around the edges and some glitter and you have a quick and easy card!

It's time again for Sharon's Stamp Simply Challenge and today we are going to POT!!!

This card was done for a friend's birthday.

I simply stamped the sentiment, which is from Papertrey Ink onto their new rustic cream cardstock and used some Peeled Paint distress ink to color up the edges. The buttons and twine are from PTI as well.

Some simple designer paper from my stash that matched and there you have it!!

This card is a cased card... The original is done by Debbie Olsen... The images are from the "Friends Till the End" set from Papertrey ink, stamped in black memento ink and colored with Copics.

The Flourish is from Papertrey ink as well stamped in Marigold chalk ink onto a yellowy cardstock. The ribbon is from Michael's and the punch along the bottom is Martha Stewart...
