Our challenge for this week's STAMP SIMPLY CHALLENGE is to use or make something new! Use a new stamp or embellishment or use a new technique...

Something NEW to ring in the NEW YEAR!! WOW!!! 2010!!

I saw this little project on Debbie Olsen's site and really liked the paper flower that she used on the top.

So that is the new thing for me. I think this paper flower is such a great addition to a project.. Makes it look very vintagey!!

Check out the link HERE!!

The heart tin is from Papertrey Ink, the paper from K and Company, ribbon from PTI and the love stamp from Inkadinkado.!!

And I do apologize for the picture. It is yucky!! and the project looks WAY better in real life... But I am trying to get this done and get my house cleaned for tonight and get all my Christmas decorations put away!!

I have this superstitious streak. My house has to be cleaned and ready for the New Year without any signs of the old!! Wierd huh??!!

Check out Sharon's site HERE for all the details!!
Check out all the great NEW creations from the rest of the team as well.!!

Today's challenge was to create some simple thankyou cards that you can send for all those wonderful things that you receive during the holidays. I kept the design very simple using Papertrey Inks Poinsettia set. I stamped the poinsettia with Memento black ink and colored them with Copics. This was a bit time consuming but only took me about 30 minutes for all five cards.
The bottom was stamped in Pure Poppy ink and the sentiment in black. I added a little Gold Spica glitter pen in the center of each poinsettia.
Check out Sharon's site HERE for all the details and the rest of the design team's creations.

Just wanted to share with you a card that was given to me by my friend's daughter. Jenn has been bitten by the stamping bug and she is getting GOOD!!!
I love her colors and layers here...
Hope all your Christmas preparations are going well !!
Have a great day everyone and thanks for stopping in!!

Switching gears***

Hi there!! Just thought I would totally switch gears here and do a few Valentine's Day cards.
The sentiment is from Inkadinkado stamped in Pure Poppy ink from PTI!
I cut it out of a regular oval nestabilitie backing it with a scallop nestabilitie in red.
The paper is from Provo Craft, and the punch is Martha Stewart!!
Have a great day everyone and thanks for stopping in***

This week's STAMP SIMPLY CHALLENGE is to use snow somewhere on your creation... White, soft, glittery snow!!!

We have just a touch of the white stuff. Just enough to make it feel like Christmas!

This card is as simple as it gets.
I stamped the tree which is from Papertrey Ink in fresh snow ink just up enough on the piece of cardstock to allow for a hill of snow.
I used a paintbrush and swiped some white tacky glue underneath the tree to look like a hill and then dumped on a bunch of Martha Stewart's coarse glitter. The glue will dry clear. I used the little snowflake grouping from the same PTI set, in fresh snow ink and dabbed them into the sky. A little white opal drop of liquid pearl and a single word sentiment and you have a snowy day card in minutes. Except for the drying time.!!!

Take a look see at all the other creations for this week's challenge and go and make a glittery snowy card. It will make you feel all Christmasy inside!! If you do, link it up on Sharon's site on Mr. Linky... I would love to see what you make!!

We are all so busy this time of year and since I haven't had alot of time to create cards or projects I thought I would share a few pics with you.

This one is of my two boys hoisting up the Christmas tree.
Every year we cut one down. It is SO MUCH FUN!!!

My sister in law Brenda (the one in the middle) will be turning 50 this December 23rd and her children had a surprise party for her this past weekend. They did a fabulous job and we all had a great visit!! Jeannie is my other sister in law!

And last but certainly not least is my good friend Chris. Her birthday is today!! We had them for dinner last night and here she is showing off her new apron and market bag that I sewed for her.
I think she looks rather ravishing don't you think!!

Good morning***

Well I didn't have much stamping time this weekend but did manage to get this card made for a friend's birthday.
The image is Inkadinkado. You can see the set HERE and the words are from Papertrey Ink HERE.
I inked up the image with versamark inked and then covered it with clear embossing powder and heated it up. I used some chalk ink a nice taupe color and a sponge to give the image some depth. The words are stamped in a deep choclate brown. The flower is from Hero Arts.
Enjoy everyone***

Time for Sharon's STAMP SIMPLY CHALLENGE for this week. Today we are supposed to alter a store bought card. Isn't that sacriligious in the crafting world? Having any "store bought" cards in your house?

We got one from the newspaper carrier so I thought I would attempt something with it.

Here is the original card and I do apologize for the photo. It is snowing here and dark this morning.

The card has all kinds of glitter on it as well so that made things even easier.

I thought I would cut it down and make a tag for one of the gifts I have. So here is the transformation. I added a sentiment from the Anna Wight collection to a piece of the card that I cut from the back of the card. It already had that little red snowflake on it so I just added the sentiment in black ink, added it to a red layer of cardstock and then a piece of chipboard and added a piece of ribbon. FUN!!!!!!!!

This is a better picture.. This was a great challenge.. Have fun with this one!!

Check out all the other transformations from the rest of the design team.

I spied these calendars for 2010 in Michael's for $1.00 so thought I would cover them with designer paper and a new set from Papertrey Ink.
A little something for my niece's birthdays that are coming up this month!!
Thanks so much for stopping in***

Last Minute gift bag decorations***

I needed a few gift bag ornaments and decided to make these out of the largest and smallest circle nestabilitie. I cut them out of white chipboard and covered them in white glue that dries clear.
I covered one with red and white buttons and the other two with some white and blue seed beads.
Some satin ribbon was attached and they will be a great addition to the gifts that I have ready to go.
Have a great day everyone***

Me and The Fat Man***

Victoria Park here in London Ontario is all lit up. With lights that is... My husband Brian and I went for a walk to see them all and Brian couldn't resist taking a picture of me and Santa.

Christmas is here and I am loving it!!!

Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Sharon's STAMP SIMPLY CHALLENGE this week is to make a pretty tag to hang on bottle, attach to a package or anywhere your tag might call home.
I, again, am killing two birds with one stone.
We are going to friends for dinner next week and I wanted to make something to transport the bottle of wine in.
So I cut a piece of white felt 12 1/2" x 16", folded it in half lengthwise and pinked the top.
I cut out some holly leaves from green felt just by hand and stitched them onto one side, added the stem with a running stitch and then added some buttons for the holly berries. Turning right sides together, I just stitched it up on my sewing machine. After adding the bottle of wine I added a piece of red silk ribbon and the TAG!!
I wanted to find something that resembled the holly and berries on the bag so chose a set from Papertrey Ink, " Holiday Button Bits ". I stamped the leaves in Versamagic Tea Leaves ink, added some glitter and again added buttons for the berries.
The sentiment is from the same set.. I attached it to the bag with some funky red fibers. The tag is" ULTRA SIMPLE". This time of year I don't need to concentrate on anything too complicated.
We say goodbye to Bethany Paul who was our guest designer for November and say hello to Michelle Woerner who joins us for December.
Check out all the fabulous TAGS that our design team has to offer and enjoy your weekend.***

A little gift***

We are headed to friends this week for a little Christmas cheer and I thought I would make a set of mug rugs to go along with the coffee mugs and chocolate that I am taking.
I made the mug rugs out of navy blue and ivory felt and covered the paper mache box with My Mind's Eye paper and ribbon from Sharon's Store.

PTI Case***

If you look on Nichole Heady's blog, she made a card just like this which I fell in love with. I had to recreate it. I just HAD to!!!
Picture taking is horrible - dull dreary and rainy here.
This card is made with newly released sets, "Home Made" and "Big Bold Wishes"..
I added the strip of glitter which is hard to see with double stick tape.
The branches are from a Martha Stewart punch.
Enjoy and thanks for stopping in***
