SSNOTIME141***PATRIOTIC COLORS***

Hi everyone!! I have been in my garden, outside, anywhere but in front of the computer.

The weather here in Southwestern Ontario has been HOT and HUMID and SUNNY!! Great gardening weather. I have everything planted, the grass cut, the patio furniture out!! Feels GOOD!! Anyway today is our STAMP SIMPLY CHALLENGE and since it is Memorial Day in the States this week Sharon decided that we all make a card with the colors of the flag of our country.



Last weekend was Victoria Day in Canada. Our flag's colors are red and white. And since I don't have a maple leaf stamp I decided to make a card that I could use for any celebration .

I used an image from PTI's Limited Edition Anniversary set in Pure Poppy ink along with red rhinestones and red and white cardstock. Super simple. The sentiment is from the same set and can be used to celebrate a national holiday, a birthday, an anniversary or anything special.

SSNOTIME140***A LITTLE LEFT OF CENTER

Today's STAMP SIMPLY CHALLENGE is to make a card and put the focal image askew!! To the left or right of center. Up or down or all around just not perfectly in the middle.


WELL!! First of all I saw Debbie Olsen's post the other day and she made this great tote bag.

I had this bunch of material sitting on my craft table so I thought I would follow the tutorial that she linked to and I made one as well.
















Then I thought I would this card to go along with today's challenge... The gift card is made with the focal image, which is from Just Rite Stamps, off to the left of the card...

















The sentiment on the inside of the card is from Anna Wight's collection.


The gift is for a friend's birthday this summer.

Inspired cards ***

These cards were inspired by the one that Nichole Heady did on her blog a few weeks ago.

Papertrey Ink has numerous different background stamps that work so nicely to fill in a piece of cardstock and add such interest...

Little One***

My girlfriend Monica became a grandma for the first time this past week. Her daughter Julia had a little girl... I immediately made this card to go along with the gift I will be sending.
The bear and sentiment are from PTI's Baby Button Bits. The bear is stampe in Memento Black ink and colored with Copics. I cut her out and popped her up with dimensionals... The sentiment is also colored with Copics and a Vintage button with twine was added.

The scallop edge is one of PTI's die cuts and they work beautifully.

Recipe Monday***

Sunday my older son Landon and his girlfriend Britt came for dinner along with Tyler and Brian and I. I have a rhubarb plant in the backyard so I decided to try Ann's Rhubarb Pie which you can find the recipe for HERE...

It was delicious!!!

I also made a card that kind of went along with today's post of pie!! I used Unity Stamps which are just wonderful...

The stamp is from Unity's Hodge Podge of Happiness!! And pie qualifies as happiness***

Jennifer Buck had the pleasure of providing us with a sketch for today's STAMP SIMPLY CHALLENGE***









I don't do sketches all that often but when I do I like to recreate that sketch without too much embellishment.








I used Hawaiian shores and Kraft cardstock from PTI, matting one of the components of the sketch.

I used the Swiss Dot Cuttlebug folder on the larger piece just for a little added interest.

The bloom is from Beautiful Blooms II from PTI stamped in Hawaiian shores ink with a sentiment from PTI as well.

My good friend Chris gave me this little platter and this homemade card...
A little Tuscan village on the platter! Oh a girl can dream and eat cheese and fruit ***









Pat from "The Rubber Maid" made me this very cool Potatoe Packet... A quilted bag that you put a potatoe into and then steam it in the microwave.
It works wonderfully!!










Wendy from "2kids,2dogs" sent me these great pearl ornaments. The two that are a little out of the frame of the picture are now hanging on one of my candle holders on my mantel.












My sister-in-law Brenda sent me this fabulous card.

Mother's Day Pillows***

These are the little lavender pillows that I made for my Mom and Mother-in-law for Mother's Day.. I stitched the pattern which is a freebie at "Bird Brain Designs" onto white cotton muslin and then turned it into a little pillow stuffed with dried lavender.

SSNOTIME138***MOTHER'S DAY

Since this is Mother's Day weekend, let's do a card or project for Mother's Day. We realize many of you may have your Mother's Day projects complete already, so in that case make your card or project suitable for a woman for any occasion you desire. Just make sure it's a VERY female oriented project! That's it! Can't wait to see!!!

I have my projects done for my Mother and Mother-in-law but can't post until next week. They peek all the time and can't risk it!!!

So today I am making a little box , covered in designer paper from my bit bin - yet again, tied with ribbon from Sharon's store and a little tag made with Spellbinders petite scallops and a sentiment from one of Anna Wight's collections. I also added a little pearl hat pin from Maya Road.

The box houses a few candles and will be going to my sister-in-law...

Instead of giving you the dimensions for this box I am going to steer you towards Mel's blog "MELSTAMPZ" and her HUGE list of box templates... Then you can decide what kind you want to make.

Birthday Happiness***

Today was my birthday and I had the best day!! My Mom and Dad called and sang Happy Birthday in English and Polish... My Mom lost her voice half way through but wouldn't give up. I almost peed my pants with laughter!! You had to be there!

One of my best friends, Deb, called and sang!! We chatted!

I went to the salon for a cut and color!! A pamperin' kind of day! And then I went to the office and worked a few hours.

One of my other best friends, Mary, called and we chatted and she sang.

Came home and got ready to go out to dinner with my family.

My matron of honor, Monica, called and we chatted... We have known each other for 30+ years.

My two sons were there for dinner as well as their significant others.. One in body and one in spirit! Alix is in Kingston still in school so Britt was there for both of them.

We came home and I received some BEAUTIFUL gifts. My sons, Landon and Tyler and their girlfriends, Alix and Britt , gave me two wonderful wicker rockers for our deck!! I didn't want to leave! I was quite happy to sit there!!















My husband and I celebrate our family and our lives together every day and I wouldn't have it any other way!!!





















My good friend Chris gave me a wonderful platter and a beautiful hand made card which I will post later on. ( I ran out of batteries!!!)



And my most amazing blogging sister, Julie sent me these gorgeous flowers all the way from Montana!!






















I had the most amazing day because of family and friends!!
