This week it's a color inspiration given to us by Sharon... A little yellow, a little gray and maybe a pop of black***

And here is my creation... Although I did this REALLY quickly I think it turned out simply and not so bad. I like the pop of black... Otherwise I thought it too bland. The image is from Stampin' Up's "In Full Bloom". A little masking, a little coloring with Copics and there you have it.

Hi everyone!! Just wanted to share a few pictures from my son's

graduation on Monday!!

I am sharing today a card made by Barb Baytor. She is Alix's Mom... Alix is my younger son Tyler's girlfriend. She is a total cardie now.... And she is doing a fabulous job.

This was the card she made for Tyler's graduation which is today. He is graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Justice Studies and a Diploma in Police Foundations. Next year he begins his Master's in Public Policy. Alix graduated a few weeks ago with a degree in Commerce and will soon be a Chartered Accountant. We are very proud of both of them.

WAY TO GO BARB!!! Don't tell your husband but I have a whole bunch of stuff for you!!

Sharon, whose fabulous blog you can find HERE, gave us the sketch to work with this week. I don't do sketches very often and don't know why... They are so much fun!!

Here is the sketch that Sharon provided us with if you feel like you want to play along.

My card is 5" x 5" with a kraft cardstock base. The designer papers are from my stash, matted on black and kraft cardstock. The ribbon is from my local sewing shop, the stamp from Unity. I stamped it with Surf colorbox ink and added some micro beads and diamond glaze on top.

This could be a birthday card, a thank you card... Pretty generic I think...

True Friend***

Just a quickie post tonight. The weather has been too nice to sit on the computer but I wanted to get a card made...

I used a cuttlebug folder to emboss the Hawaiian shores cardstock and then used white and cut out the scallop edge with the PTI scallop die.

I sewed along the edges and attached the piece to white cardstock.

The flower is cut out with Beautiful Blooms # 3 die set from Papertrey Ink as well as the leaves from the Dahlia set. They are cut out of white and green felt from PTI..

The sentiment is from PTI as well and I added a yellow rhinestone to the middle...

Gotta get back to my gardens before dark settles in... Thanks for stopping in***

SSNOTIME143***GIVE IT A CHANCE***

Today, Sharon wanted us to find one of those rejected or unfinished pieces that you throw into a box and say someday I will use that and never do.

Welllllll**** Can you believe it?? I don't have any of those. Anything that I start I finish and if I don't like it I throw it away. I have no little pieces waiting to be put onto a card or project!

I have enough just trying to keep up with all the pieces of paper in my bit bin that having any other things hanging around would drive me batty!!



So I DID use a piece of paper from my bit bin and then embossed this "Scenic Poppy" image from Stampendous with black E.P. and then watercolored with Tombow markers.



I just popped the image up with some dimensionals and there you have it!!

Lots of celebrations the past couple of weeks. Alix's birthday and graduation, dinner out with Brian, my two boys and their girlfriends to celebrate.

A bridal shower for my niece Ashley and her fiance Ryan.

Lots of fun!! and lots of laughs!!

SSNOTIME142***A LITTLE SOMETHIN' SWEET

Today's STAMP SIMPLY CHALLENGE is brought to you courtesy of Jenny Gropp who asked us to use something SWEET in our project... Chocolates, candies, whatever rocks your world***

I thought I would make a cupcake box and I used the tutorial provided by Valerie Stangle... Look at the directions HERE***

It is well written and super simple to follow...








Here is the lid of the box.. I used a piece of ribbon just on the sides and across the top so the box was easy to open.
The cupcake image is from PTI, colored with Tombow markers and stamped on ivory shimmer cardstock. The Just for You sentiment is from PTI as well, simply punched out with a circle punch. I popped the cupcake image with a few dimensionals.

The cupcake has a huge purple, plastic ring jammed into the middle of it. Its for the little girl next door!!
