SSNOTIME154***COLOR CHALLENGE

Today's colors are rich and so pretty together as we transition from summer into autumn. And autumn comes earlier to some of us than others. Our colors are Turquoise and Orange, with White OR Ivory as your netural and as always, adding Black for a little POP is totally OK, but not required.






Try as hard as I could my picture just didn't come out well I think.
But you get the jist of it! The colors are similar.

I used Hawaiian Shores and Terra Cotta cardstock from PTI, with a little black of course.
The designer paper is from my bit bin. I am always rummaging around to find things that I can use and I thought it went well.
The sentiment is from PTI as well and the pumpkin is from Cuttlebug, cut out, and then run through again with a texture plate from PTI to give it a little something extra and then a little walnut stain distress ink.
I just used a fine top marker around the edges as well.

Joan's Challenge***

Good morning everyone! This tag/card was made for Joan Fricker's Challenge # 11.

I used a manila tag and added dried marigold and straw with water to the whole tag. I dried it and then used Tim Holtz stamps and Autumn Leaves stamps to add the designs.

The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

The flower was white and I dipped it in the same inks that I did the tag with and let it dry.

I also used Walnut stain and Faded Jeans around the edges of the tag. I had a piece of terra cotta card stock and the designer paper in my bit bin so decided to turn it into a birthday card for my niece.

A TIM HOLTZ KIND OF DAY***

I was in a Tim Holtz kind of mood today!! The rain is coming down, I finished all my laundry, made zucchini bread from the gigantic zucchini my Mom gave me, I cleaned the basement and then thought I would get my distress inks out.

Most of the stamps are Tim Holtz except for a few. I used a PTI sentiment as well as a Whipper Snapper sentiment.

I just had fun and now will turn all these tags into cards.

SSNOTIME153***PLEATED RIBBON

Pleated ribbon seems to be all the rage of late, so today we are going to make creations with pleated ribbon. You may use purchased pleated ribbon, you may pleat your own by hand or on a sewing machine or with tape. Whatever you can dream up -- let's just see some fun pleats on our projects today. Oh, and for the purpose of this challenge, we will equate gathers to pleats -- either/or is fine!

My card today uses Flourished Coffee images. The cup is stamped in Memento Black ink, colored with Copics and popped up. The ribbon is from my local sewing store and I put a strip of double sided tape down the side of the card. I then started pleating the ribbon and sticking it down to help me along. Instead of sewing down the middle I just added a few glue dots to hold the pleats down. The designer paper is from my bit bin of course.

Have some fun with this one but remember to keep it SIMPLE***

LIFE***

Hello everyone! I am just waiting for my brother and his wife and my nieces to get here and then we are heading to my husband's family reunion.
We are taking the girls while my brother and Risa head to the spa...

So I thought I would post this card that I made for my son's girlfriend.

The background on the yellow cardstock was done with THIS set from PTI. Just with Versamark black in.

I used the LIFE set also from PTI and purple chalk in and stamped the image three times to soften each one.

The sentiment is stamped in black and the ribbon is also PTI....

SSNOTIME152***RIBBONS SNIPS***

Waste not, want not! Today's challenge is to use ribbon scraps on our card or project. You may use as many as you want, just make sure it's a scrap, a small piece. You can do whatever you want with them, but let's just make use of some of these little bits of prettiness!!!

Sharon also added in her challenge to us that most of us keep all the little scraps of ribbon.
Well I don't!!! Is that sacriligious?? If I have a little bit of ribbon left from a card I just toss it otherwise I would be swimming in ribbon and paper... It's enough I keep the paper scraps!
My room isn't big enough for both of us!!!

But I DID have this piece of orange satin ribbon in a little box by my work table so I thought I would use that and get a head start on my Hallowe'en cards.
This little pretties are 4" x 4" of Orange Zest cardstock from PTI, lots of Hallowe'en designer papers from my bit bin and a little piece (about 4 1/2") of orange ribbon.

The little witchy is from Waltzingmouse Stamps, embossed with black embossing powder and put on top of a scallop circle. The sentiment is from the same stamp set***

Simple simple so I made 5....

Bundle of Joy***

Our niece and her husband had their baby boy a couple of days ago and this is the card I made for them. The paper is all PTI including the polka dot paper. The sentiment is also PTI stamped in Cyan ink and then glittered up. The button is PTI and the pin I have had in my stash so don't exactly know where that is from. I used the treading water punch on the blue cardstock to give it that eyelet effect.

Today's STAMP SIMPLY CHALLENGE come to us courtesy of Barb Anders... She challenged us to use just one layer on our cards. You can embellish with anything just NO LAYERS!!

My card is one layer of vintage cream cardstock from PTI... An image from Hero Arts colored with Copic markers. I added some gold dots from Stampendous. The edges of the card are distressed with Dried Marigold distress ink and the ribbon is Orange Zest from PTI...
